About Perfect Pitch
As Second Oboist with the MET Orchestra, nine months out of the year most nights you'll find me in a dark orchestra pit at the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center in New York City accompanying the likes of Renee Fleming or Placido Domingo.
The other three months of the year you're likely to find me at Shea Stadium right behind home plate in a Mezzanine Box with my ten-year-old daughter and my husband. As season ticket-holders, you'll find us in our reserved seats--marked "Spector Trio"--cheering on the likes of David Wright and Jose Reyes and singing "Meet the Mets" and "Enter Sandman" to accompany closer Billy Wagner's entrance in the bottom of the ninth.
Life can get kind of complicated during the early part of the baseball season and during the post season (if, God willing, there is one!)--overlapping the opera season--but nevermind...
Originally from Kansas, I--like Mets pitcher Mike Pelfry--attended Wichita State University. It was there that I received a Bachelor of Music degree. I went on to Philadelphia, attending many Phillies games and also earning a Master of Music degree from Temple University where I studied with the Principal Oboist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Richard Woodhams.
When I'm not playing the oboe, attending Mets games, or taking pictures of or writing about the Mets, I enjoy spending time with my family, photography, going to museums, listening to jazz, poetry and reading...and shoes.
